Code Foils Launches Kanga Series Dedicated Pump Foil Range

Code Foils Launches Kanga Series: Dedicated Pump Foil Range Designed for Faster Progression

Code Foils has unveiled the all-new Kanga Series, marking the brand’s first foil range developed exclusively for pump foiling. Rather than adapting an existing front wing design, the Kanga Series was engineered from the ground up for dock starts, flat-water pumping, paddle-ups and ultra-light wind winging, with a strong focus on making foiling more accessible to riders of all skill levels.

The launch represents a significant step for the rapidly growing pump foil discipline, where riders generate their own speed without relying on waves or strong wind.

A Foil Built Specifically for Pumping

Unlike conventional hydrofoil wings that are designed primarily for surfing, wing foiling or downwind riding, the Kanga Series prioritizes stability, early lift and extremely low stall speeds. According to Code Foils, the design allows riders more time to recover from mistakes, stay on foil longer and accelerate their learning curve.

The company says the goal was to remove many of the traditional barriers to entry by creating a foil that performs in calm water, making everyday locations such as lakes, docks and harbors suitable for training sessions.

The Kanga Series is intended for:

  • Dock starts
  • Flat-water pumping
  • Paddle-ups
  • Ultra-light wind wing foiling
  • Foil skill development
  • Maximum water time in everyday conditions

Four Sizes Cover Beginners to Long-Distance Specialists

The Kanga lineup consists of four models designed for different rider weights and experience levels:

Kanga 1390
The most efficient model in the standard range, aimed at lighter riders with established pumping technique who want greater distance and speed.

Kanga 1600
An all-around option offering additional lift and lower-speed performance, making it ideal for riders progressing their pump foil skills.

Kanga 1870
Designed as the most beginner-friendly foil in the range, featuring maximum stability and forgiving low-speed characteristics. It is also recommended for heavier riders starting their pump foil journey.

Kanga 2220
A dedicated long-distance pump foil featuring an impressive 1700 mm span. Developed for experienced riders looking to maximize efficiency and cover exceptional distances.

Tim Michaelis Covers 35 Kilometers on the Kanga 2220

To showcase the capabilities of the new design, Code Foils released an “Untold Stories” video featuring team rider Tim Michaelis. Riding the Kanga 2220 on a Swiss lake, Michaelis remained on foil for approximately 2.5 hours, covering an impressive 35 kilometers entirely through pumping.

The demonstration highlights the growing endurance potential of modern pump foiling equipment and illustrates how dedicated designs continue to push the limits of the discipline.

Technical Video Explains the Design Philosophy

Alongside the product launch, Code Foils has also published a Kanga Tech Talk video, explaining the design philosophy, intended applications and size recommendations for the entire range.

With the Kanga Series, Code Foils is positioning itself in one of the fastest-growing segments of hydrofoiling, offering equipment specifically developed to make pump foiling easier to learn while giving experienced riders the efficiency needed for increasingly ambitious distance sessions.
