The fourth stop of the 2026 European SUP League came to an exciting conclusion in Rybnik, Poland, where Sergio Cantoral and Alba Frey captured victory in the 200-metre sprint races. The final day of the ODRA SUP CUP showcased explosive racing, with the Spanish team delivering one of its strongest performances of the season.
Held along the scenic Upper Odra River as part of the ODRA SUP FESTIVAL, the event featured three days of international Stand Up Paddle competition. The official European SUP League disciplines included both the technical race and the 200-metre sprint, with a total prize purse of €6,000 split evenly between the two events.
Sergio Cantoral Takes Sprint Victory
The men’s sprint final delivered another thrilling showdown between Spain’s Sergio Cantoral and Dutch paddler Donato Freens. After finishing runner-up to Freens in Saturday’s technical race, Cantoral reversed the outcome to claim victory in the sprint final.
Freens crossed the line in second place, while Italy’s Filippo Mercuriali secured third. Cantoral’s victory capped off an outstanding weekend after combining a second-place finish in the technical race with a sprint win.
Freens also enjoyed a highly successful event, leaving Poland with a technical race victory and a second-place finish in the sprint. Meanwhile, young Spanish talent Rubén Cantoral continued his impressive development by finishing third in the technical race and fourth in Sunday’s sprint final.
Alba Frey Completes a Perfect Weekend
The women’s competition belonged to Alba Frey, who completed a dominant double victory in Poland.
After winning the technical race on Saturday, Frey once again demonstrated her versatility and speed by taking first place in the 200-metre sprint. Her consistent performances across both disciplines made her one of the standout athletes of the weekend.
Spain’s Nuria Chiquero secured another runner-up finish, while Poland’s Martyna Drobny delighted the home crowd by claiming third place. Together with fourth-place finisher Maja Bauerek, the result highlighted the continued rise of Poland’s young female paddlers on the international SUP racing scene.
ODRA SUP CUP Celebrates the Entire SUP Community
Beyond the elite European SUP League racing, the ODRA SUP FESTIVAL offered a packed programme designed for paddlers of all levels. Participants enjoyed a 5-kilometre Fun Race, recreational competitions, SUP Yoga sessions and the popular Dragon Race, creating an event that combined high-performance racing with community participation.
The competition was organised by RTW Racibórz in cooperation with the City of Rybnik, MOSiR Rybnik and the Polish Surfing Federation.
