Itzel Delgado and Laura Dal Pont Crowned Overall Champions at Sayulita SUP Open 2025

Despite an unexpectedly low turnout in both rider participation and international athletes, the Starboard Sayulita SUP Open 2025 proved to be a resounding success, thanks to perfect conditions and an electric atmosphere that kept the energy high throughout the weekend.
Peruvian powerhouse Itzel Delgado dominated the men’s field, claiming victory in both the long-distance and sprint races, securing his spot as the overall champion. Meanwhile, Laura Dal Pont showcased her versatility and strength in the women’s division, winning the technical race and delivering a strong performance across multiple disciplines to take the women’s overall title.
While the lower-than-expected number of competitors may have raised some initial concerns, the event itself delivered everything paddlers and spectators could hope for—world-class racing, stunning weather, and a vibrant beach atmosphere that reflected Sayulita’s reputation as a SUP hotspot.
With another successful edition in the books, the Sayulita SUP Open continues to establish itself as a must-attend event, proving that passion, competition, and community spirit can carry a race weekend, regardless of the roster size.
