Experimenting with shims for your foil

Foiling is a very technical sport and we often talk about front foils, stabilizers mast position and so on. One thing most “normal” riders rarely talk about are Shims, the little plates with which you can change the angle of our tail wing.

I personally have been wing foiling for four years now and only experimented with these shims in the early days just to realize that I could not really find a difference. Changing angles by one or a half degree did not really impact my foiling experience. Now after four years I wanted to know with all this experience if I finally can feel a difference. In this video, I packed as many shims under my stabilizer just to see what it feels like to then start removing some of them to see when I arrive at the sweet spot.
