Bohinj SUP Challenge Results Recap

This past Saturday, Lake Bohinj hosted the 8th edition of the Bohinj SUP Challenge, and once again, it lived up to its name. Ranked as a 2-Star event by the SWR and attracting over 100 participants, the Bohinj SUP Challenge was a resounding success. In its eighth year, this popular event in Slovenia reached new heights, making it the best one yet.

The race day was hot and intense, with close finishes and plenty of happy faces, all testaments to the love for this event. Thanks to the incredible turnout, the start line was the longest in the event’s history—so long, in fact, that one participant joked it could be seen from space, a claim that seemed almost believable from the event photos.

Rudy van Haven the race director of “The Lake Rocks” SUP Festival was part of the race and had the following to say:

Also in 2024 Damjan Mozina and Mihi Pajkica and the Canoe Club Bohinj led us through a well-organized paddle festival. With a record attendance of more than 110 Suppaddler and once again so many canoeists, this event has caused quite a stir among the numerous spectators.

Despite difficult preparation, I took up the Ultra Challenge again this year and started both in kayak over 10 kilometers and on the Sup over 7 kilometers. I had assessed my rather weak condition correctly and I paddled in both competitions to get through.I can live quite well with places 2. and 5., because I know how to assess this.

But more important than me were all the friendly faces and their smiles and laughter and the stories behind them.

For me, the 8. BOHINJ SUP CHALLENGE is one of the best paddling events I know and I would like to thank everyone who made it possible and participated in it.

See you all and many more of you next year 16.August 2025 in the 9.Edition.
