What a day under the sun in Gran Canaria for stop number of EURO TOUR . There were not that many racers, but we had some very tight and technical racing that made for a fantastic spectacle for competitors and spectators alike.
In the men side French man Arthur Arutkin won both heats for the gold. After a tough race in World SUP Festival a month ago, he won his 1st heat convincingly, but in 2nd an early fall out put him behind the Top10. With an amazing comeback in the short course he secured the victory.
On the ladies side, local paddler Alba Frey gave no chance to her rivals, and won both heats with authority.
In yet another outstanding performance the Swiss Anna Tschirky was not far behind. The always consistent German Susanne Lier had two solid heats. On her first EURO TOUR podium Italian Claudia Luchetta in 4th showed great progress from last year’s performance. Our junior winner also fromI Italy Biancaa Toncellii had a breakthrough performance with a fantastic second heat that showed her claim a Top5 result.
The kid’s & Amateur race in the morning were exciting and was great to see how much the youngsters and specially the local Second Reef team are improving.
