The special feature of WingFoiling is the combination of the underwater wing (Foil) and the wing (Wing), which catches the wind. Due to the low frictional resistance of the Foil, the sport, which will be presented for the first time in 2019, needs very little wind to show fascinating jumps, exciting races and spectacular wave rides. Visitors were able to see this for themselves – around 40 FoilingEquiment manufacturers offered their products for testing free of charge, which was very well received.

The newly offered Wing Foil taster courses were also enthusiastically received. Curious visitors were able to get out on the water themselves under professional guidance and discover this new trendy water sport for themselves. “What I found fascinating was the uncomplicated handling with the Wing and the feeling of being in tune with the wind,” says actor Sven Schmidke, after the taster course. “You can just let yourself be
just let the wind carry you.”
Even those who had come just to watch quickly warmed up on the festival grounds: on the show stage, exciting interviews with experts and athletes from the foil scene alternated with live performances by local bands. “Our concept was a complete success,” said a delighted Paul Peine from the organizer, Freiluft GmbH from Kiel. “An innovative, exciting sport to touch, good music and the unique atmosphere directly on the Baltic Sea beach were once again the perfect ingredients for a successful festival weekend. We would like to thank our partners – especially the Baltic Sea resort Schönberg, for the great realization of the festival.”
