HOTD 2021 Virtual World River Challenge

Head of the Dart 2021 Challenge is going virtual with a twist!

2020 saw an explosion in SUP and cancellation of events due to lockdown and restrictions to help stop the spread of COVID-19. With efforts continuing to fight the virus, we are unable to host next year’s event in the normal way however we recognize that paddlers (new and experienced alike) are keen to take part in events and share experiences. We want to try and do something that combines bringing together those new to the sport as well as those who have been paddling for a while as a community.

For 2021 only, we want to get as many paddlers as possible to come together – virtually – and over the course of April paddle as a community the length of the longest rivers in each continent – this is 33,600KM! It doesn’t matter if you only paddle 5km or 50km, whether you go for time or leisure….all distances will count.

With the challenge being virtual, for next year only we are delighted to be able to open up the challenge to juniors, prone and OC paddlers anywhere in the world!  It won’t cost you anything to enter (it is FREE) and all we are asking is that for every KM you paddle that you raise £1 for charity.  You can paddle by yourself, paddle in a group (in line with government restrictions) and as part of your club.

As an added incentive for paddlers, all paddlers who enter and paddle more than 30KM in the month will be entered into a prize draw with a chance of winning some special treats from our sponsors.

On top of this, we will be holding a prize draw for a SUP Club to win 3 Starboard adjustable UD carbon paddles. To be in for a chance of winning, all you need is for your club members to take part in the challenge and as a club paddle more than 150KM during April. Clubs who reach the target will then go into the draw.

Further details in regards how to register along with the sponsorship page will be released early in the New Year.
