With great regret I note that the boot 2021 is now definitely canceled. I was very happy about the new date, longer days and not so cold in front of the hall. The new magazine was planned to appear directly at boot.
Of course, I was also aware that I could not count on the appointment 100%, but was actually cautiously optimistic. The tenor from the industry was then but somewhat different. Many did not want to register and had also canceled the participation if the boot could have taken place. Now the cat is out of the bag and we have a little more planning security. But what surprised me was that boot announced their cancellation so early. The first change of date was postponed for a very long time. I assumed that we would hear the last word only towards the end of February.
It is a great pity that I will probably not be able to meet you again this year and that we will have to do without boot for a year. It was always very great 10 days at the fair.
Here is the official PR:
Messe Düsseldorf sagt boot 2021 wegen anhaltender Pandemie ab
Next boot Düsseldorf 22. to 30. January 2022
Messe Düsseldorf decided on Thursday, January 21, to cancel boot Düsseldorf for 2021 due to the ongoing pandemic and the associated worldwide lockdown measures. The next boot will open its doors from January 22 to 30, 2022, as scheduled in the trade show calendar. Under the circumstances, it is no longer guaranteed to be held on the planned date in April, says Wolfram N. Diener, CEO of Messe Düsseldorf: “The persistently high level of infection and the fact that the end of the lockdown is not foreseeable for the time being make a resumption of trade show operations at the end of April appear increasingly unrealistic. We have reassessed the situation with our partners and jointly decided to cancel boot 2021 early. Our priority is the health and planning security of our exhibitors, visitors and service providers. All activities will now be focused on the successful staging of boot 2022.”
