Gran Canaria PRO 2025: Full Results & Highlights from Spain’s Premier SUP Race

Anfi del Mar, Gran Canaria – June 7–8, 2025
The 5th edition of the Gran Canaria PRO SUP Race delivered two days of high-level Stand Up Paddleboarding action on one of Spain’s most iconic beaches. Held at Anfi del Mar in the Canary Islands, this event brought together elite national and international SUP athletes, families, and spectators for a weekend filled with racing, activities, and beach vibes.
Part of the Official 2025 Spanish SUP Race Calendar
The Gran Canaria PRO is part of the FESurfing Long Distance League, the Spanish Surf Federation’s PRO SUP League, and the Canary Islands SUP Race Circuit. With Long Distance and Sprint disciplines, it’s one of the most important competitive Stand Up Paddleboarding events in Spain for 2025.
Day 1: Long Distance SUP Racing
On Saturday, June 8, paddlers faced a challenging mix of downwind, upwind, and crosswind conditions along the scenic coastline of Gran Canaria. The race featured portage sections, energetic beach support, and ideal summer weather—offering a true test of paddling skill and endurance.

The afternoon featured family-friendly and eco-conscious events, including:

- 🧘♀️ A relaxing SUP Yoga session by Second Reef
- 🤩 BIG SUP team races, offering entertainment and laughs for everyone on the beach
Day 2: Sprint Racing Action
On Sunday, June 9, the focus turned to Sprint Races, following an ISA-style beach start format with a 100-meter buoy turn and beach finish. The sprint competition served as an important benchmark for the Canary Islands Surfing Federation, showcasing the high level of local and regional SUP talent.
Closing Ceremony & Event Partners
The event concluded with an official awards ceremony, including trophies, sponsor prizes, and honorary mentions. Recognition was given to the paddlers, organizers, and supporters who made this edition a success.
