SUP World Rankings Update after APP Tour

We had 3 SUP events last weekend that made a difference in the worlds top ten: The APP Tour Viana Open, the EURO TOUR Berlin SUP Race and the MistrovstvĂ ÄŚR. The latter was a unknown race in the Czech Republic and even after trying to google the event we could not find anything. This is why we are happy to have Tibor Hasulyo who finds every race on this planet and the results.

Men Longdistance

The Viana Open by the APP Tour had quite an impact, but despite his 12th place nobody can touch Donato Freens. He is just too far ahead of everyone. Due to the lack of SUP Racing the top 3 at the Viana Open did not make the worlds top ten. Christian Andersen moved up 2 spots with his 4th place in Portugal. Looking at the Berlin SUP race, Normen Weber moved up two spots with his win there and Kaelan Lockhart secured his 6th spot with a 5th place. Ludovic Teulade has not been seen at a race since Faaker See and keeps declining. The same applies to Noic Garioud we did not have him at a race since Nordhausen. It is unfortunate, both are great athletes and we are sure the APP Tour would love to see them participating.

Ladies Longdistance

On the ladies side the longdistance top 4 almost seems a done deal. Esperanza is far up front and nothing has changed in two weeks. Duna Gordillos 1st place at the APP race how ever moved her dangerously close to Cecilia Pampinella, but behind the 4th the ladies are just too inactive to have much movement.

Tech. Race men

The excitement of the week was at the APP Tech. Race in Portugal. Not only did we have a controversial rule call, we had some good racing as well. Connor Baxter just made the top ten last week and with his win he is now in 2nd place not quite able to catch Christian Anderson who as been more active than Connor. Also moving up is Shrimpy Araki with a 2nd place in Portugal. With his ]fourth place in Portugal Aaron Sanchez is the new arrival in the top 10. Most others got pushed down. Claudio Nika gains 2 spots with an 8th place at the APP in Portugal.

Women Tech. Race

Cedilia Pampinella and Esperanza Barreras been exchanging first and second for the last 3 weeks. Cecilia took this weekend off and that allowed Espe to pass her the the slim margin of 10 points. On the heels of the two is Juliette DuHaime with a solid gain in points from her win at the APP. Caroline Kuntzel also moved up with a 4th place at the APP. Duna was 5th in Portugal and also moves up. Will these ladies have the opportunity to catch the points advantage of Espe and Cecilia remains to be seen.

Another notable move came from Skadi Langbein. The German junior has been flying under the radar but slowly but surely moves up. She won a Tech. Race in the Czech Republic we sadly did not get any news about.

Ladies sprint

Frankly the only sprint races are either affiliate with the ICF or in eastern Europe. All the movement came from the MistrovstvĂ ÄŚR where the German junior Skadi Langbein made second now beeing 6th in the world. We are happy for Tibor Hasulyo who keeps track of all of this. It would be great to get some PR from that part of the world too.
