Spring SUP Race Result

This weekend marks the official opening to the SUP Race Season 2023 with the Spring SUP Race on the Lago delle Nazioni in northern Italy. It was the 6th edition of this race but this year was special as this race was part of the ICF SUP World Cup and served as a qualifier for the ICF SUP World Championships in Thailand. Being an ICF qualifier did attract some of the better known names in Europe, such a Spanish power paddler Esperanza Barrera who got double gold, winning the Sprint and the longdistance race. All the way from the far north came Caroline Kuntzel getting silver in the Sprint, starting her new season under new sponsorship with SIC strong. On the podium twice was also Italy’s raising start Cecilia Pampinella.

On the men side we had a double podium for French man Ludovic Teulade and Davide Alpino, both doing really well in sprint and longdistance. Claudio Nika opened his season with a good 3rd place in longdistance but without a podium in the sprint. The same for Linus Karlson who got the podium in sprint but in longdistance only getting in 7th place.
