Gran Canaria Pro-Am Returns December 16–21, 2025: The Ultimate Showdown for SUP Surfing World Titles
The Gran Canaria Pro-Am is set to make a spectacular return to Las Palmas from December 16–21, 2025, marking the 6th edition of this iconic event on the APP World Tour. As one of Europe’s premier SUP Surfing showcases, the competition will once again crown the 2025 World Champions in both Performance and Longboard SUP Surfing, alongside the U21 Junior Championships that spotlight the sport’s rising stars.
🌊 A Global Stage for SUP Surfing
Held in the vibrant capital of Gran Canaria, the event has evolved into a year-end pilgrimage for athletes and fans alike. With €25,000 in prize money on the line, competitors from around the world will converge for a week of high-performance action under the island’s legendary winter sun and powerful Atlantic swells.

🌴 A Star-Studded Lineup
A world-class field will headline the 2025 edition, including reigning World Champions:
- Taka Inoue (Japan) and Luchy Cosoleto (Argentina) – Performance SUP
- Benoit Carpentier (France) and Kaede Inoue (Japan) – Longboard SUP
They’ll be joined by Brazilian powerhouses Luiz Diniz, Wellington Reis, and Leo Gimenes; Peruvian contender Sebastian Gomez; and Puerto Rico’s Max Torres. Among the women, Iballa Moreno remains a local favorite, joined by Vania Torres (Peru) and Airton Cozzolino (Italy), adding even more international firepower.

Returning to La Cicer Beach, Longboard SUP continues to cement its place in the Tour after legendary wins by Leco Salazar, Taka Inoue, and Benoit Carpentier. Expect refined judging criteria, stylish rail-to-rail surfing, and deep competitive rivalries. Meanwhile, the U21 Junior Division will highlight the next generation of talent destined to shape the sport’s future.
