Starboard Allstar Dry SUP Suit: Warm, dry and safe through the cold season

The days are getting shorter, temperatures are dropping and the lakes and coastal waters are also getting noticeably colder. For many paddlers and water sports enthusiasts, this usually means the end of the season. But with the new Starboard Allstar Dry SUP Suit, there is no longer any reason to put your board in storage. The advanced dry suit has been specially developed for stand up paddlers, windsurfers and foilers who want to be on the water all year round – safe, comfortable and dry.

“The drysuit from Starboard, model ALLSTAR Cityscape / Nebulosa, is a real all-rounder for me.
I’m 183 cm tall, weigh 80 kilos and wore the suit in size MT.

It is suitable for a variety of water sports – whether SUP, SUP foil, pump foiling, wingsurfing or sailing. The 3-layer wind and waterproof membrane makes it particularly suitable for colder, windy days. The material is flexible and gives me plenty of freedom of movement.

It is fitted with waterproof latex cuffs on the arms and legs. A neoprene cuff at the neck ensures a comfortable fit, but is of course only partially waterproof.

This drysuit is less suitable for sports where you often fall headfirst into the water at high speed – here I would rather recommend a classic wetsuit.

As a stand-up paddler, I enjoy the high level of comfort of the suit, as it is windproof, waterproof and breathable at the same time. It’s also fun for wingsurfing, as long as you’re cruising and doing simple maneuvers.

However, it is important to remember that a drysuit does not keep you warm by itself! On cold days, I therefore always wear thin functional underwear, such as long-sleeved ski underwear or even a light sweatshirt – this also makes it more comfortable to wear.

I have tested the suit extensively and am very satisfied! It will definitely replace my wetsuit a few times in winter.”
