Antonio Morillo Goes Back-to-Back with Another Dominant Victory at the India Paddle Festival

Sasihitlu Beach, India – Spanish paddler Antonio Morillo has once again asserted his dominance at the India Paddle Festival, securing back-to-back wins in the long-distance race. Returning to India after claiming victory in 2024, Morillo delivered an impressive performance on Day 1, completing the 10km course in just 44 minutes.
The race took paddlers on a challenging and scenic route, starting from the beach, navigating through the surf, and entering the jetty for a picturesque river section. After rounding an island, the competitors returned to the jetty before heading back out into the ocean for the final stretch—an intense technical segment featuring a zig-zag through the surf before reaching the finish line.
Finishing behind Morillo was Hungarian paddling veteran Daniel Hasulyo, who secured second place, while Denmark’s Christian Andersen claimed third, once again proving the capabilities of his inflatable race board by securing a podium spot.
With the long-distance race concluded, all eyes now turn to Sasihitlu Beach for the highly anticipated sprint event this afternoon. The dynamic sprint format promises an exciting battle.
Esperanza Barreras Celebrates International Women’s Day with Victory at the India Paddle Festival

Sasihitlu Beach, India – Spanish powerhouse Esperanza “Espe” Barreras marked International Women’s Day in style, claiming a dominant win in the long-distance race on Day 1 of the India Paddle Festival. Following in the footsteps of her compatriot Antonio Morillo, Espe successfully defended her 2024 title, proving once again why she is one of the sport’s top endurance paddlers.
Espe navigated the challenging 10km course with precision, completing it in 51 minutes to secure victory on the opening day. With sprint racing set to determine the overall champion, she now sets her sights on backing up this performance in today’s final showdown.
However, the road to victory will not come easy. Sujeong Lim of Korea and Chiara Vorster of South Africa put in strong performances, while India’s emerging talent continues to make waves, highlighting the rapid growth of stand-up paddling in the region.
With this victory, Espe not only cements her legacy in the sport but also delivers an inspiring message on International Women’s Day—encouraging greater female participation in this developing SUP destination. Sasihitlu Beach is proving to be an ideal battleground for the next generation of paddlers, setting the stage for an electrifying final day of racing.
