Celebrating the life of Amandine Chazot

It came with great sadness as we woke up to the news of the passing of Amandine Chazot. Amandine was great athlete and more so, young mother of a 4 year old boy. The news of death ripped through the watersport community like a wild fire and caught many off guard.

The celebrated French waterwoman and a beloved figure in the paddle sports community, has left us far too soon, succumbing to her brave battle with cancer. Known for her unwavering passion for the ocean, Amandine inspired many with her dedication to stand-up paddling and water sports.

In her career as a SUP Athlete Amandine achieved many great successes, looking at her track record we see mostly nothing but podiums. Her last great result was only this June where she was 3rd in Tech. and Longdistance at the Pornichet Glisse Trophy. In 2022 she earned a bronze medal at the ICF SUP World Championships in Gdynia and was 5th in Longdistance. We witnessed here success at the 2022 ICF SUP World Cup in Thun Switzerland where she won Sprint and the Tech. Race. plus a silver in Longdistance.

Her list goes on and on, but her greatest honor was probably when she carried the Olympic torch this year.

Amandine was not only a fierce competitor but also a young mother of 4-year old Cillian, a partner to Boris Jinvresse, and a friend to so many. She was a proud ambassador for France and a symbol of strength, resilience, and optimism, even during her fight against cancer.

The global paddling community mourns the loss of a true waterwoman whose legacy will live on in the memories of those who paddled alongside her, learned from her, or simply watched her glide across the water with unmatched poise. Amandine Chazot will be remembered not only for her remarkable achievements but for her indomitable spirit and the joy she brought to all who crossed her path. Her life serves as a poignant reminder of the power of passion and the beauty of living fully, no matter the challenges.
