10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY!
With an incredibly packed event calendar of cool surf and SUP events in 2022, we’re now ready to unveil the Danish SUP Tour 2022! Of course we hope that you – like us – are looking forward to a great season – because it will be! At the same time we can celebrate that this year it is exactly 10 years since we started the Danish SUP Tour Nothing less than 41 events have happened since 2013, when we held the first ever event of the tour in Tangkrogen in Aarhus It happened with great support g from finja Götz Michael Allman “som den gang netop var gĂĄet igang med at starte deres iværksætter eventyr”; Surf Agency , which today is a large well-functioning and popular surf- and SUP school, cafĂ© etc. in Aarhus!
It is therefore also incredibly great that the Danish SUP Tour 2022 is spiced up with a historic beach race where it all started, namely in Tangkrogen! Just like that we have the legendary downwind stop, FJORD X-ING on the calendar, which is placed this year in extension of the EUROSUP (European Championship) in Hvid Sande. We also have to visit a brand new exciting location near the capital and then the Social SUP Tour format will be further strengthened for all those who just want to come and paddle a shorter distance for the cozy and community.
DANISH SUP TOUR 2022 CALENDARS:
Saturday 23. April we start the Danish SUP Tour 2022 with a true flatwater classic! We are going to the heart of Denmark 3. largest city: Odense, where we also held in 2021 (despite the windy weather) a very well-visited event with +165 participants – maybe we can beat it this year
In close collaboration with Waikiki – Stand up paddling , Mornsol as well as the two strong SUP clubs on Fyn, SUPO and Klintebjerg SUP Club, we will create the framework for a fantastic long-distance race through Odense’s channels
Almost a month later, on Saturday 21. May, we take the trip to Aarhus, where as mentioned we return to the place where it all started in 2013: Tangkrogen west of Marselisborg Harbor. Here you get a taste of summer at this year’s first beach race event , which is arranged in close collaboration with Surf Agency og Aarhus Viking SUP .
After a slightly longer break, which is due to two other fantastic events that we hope to see you at; Red Bull Midsummer Vikings and 2022 DM SUP & Paddleboarding (we’ll return to that later), we’re ready for another one spectacular beach race event. Saturday, August 13t. We are visiting Rødvig Stevns, where one of the most popular surf spots in Zealand this time gets to form the framework for a high class technical race! The event will be arranged in close collaboration with LimeLight BoardSport Club , as always guaranteed to create a super beach vibe
Just 3 weeks later, Sunday 4. September, we are ready with the BIG BANG – a well-known classic: Fjord X-Ing at Ringkøbing Fjord. But as something very special, this year’s event is directly connected to the program for the European Championship in SUP , which will be held from 27. growing up. – 3. Sep. in Hvide Sande in collaboration with WATERZ . We expect here to see some of the world’s best athletes from +20 nations compete on Danish water, and of course we hope that a lot of you will participate and support the best Danish athletes throughout the European Championship week After a windy late summer, we’re sitting on Saturday 1. October all in, to settle a bang of a final – namely the Danish version of the Carolina Cup – by the coast and the inner islands in and around Ishøj. This is happening in close collaboration with Ishøj Surfklub – ISK SUP & Surf .
EVENT INFO:
As mentioned in 2022 we will take the U15 format out of the SUP Tour (U18 is maintained) and later present an independent tour for the U16. We will soon describe and publish the format and at the same time present a special junior sponsor Social SUP Tour will also be part of the Danish SUP Tour in 2022 where we try to embrace all those who simply want to have a cozy, social and positive experience on the water along with a lot of others. As something brand new, we fill more content on the event program for Social SUP Tour participants.
We will also present it a little later here on the site.In 2022 we continue the concept of club competition, where points from the two best men, the best woman and the best junior in each club, are found together across all events for a total score. The initiative continues to get even more clubs to take on the concept and fill up the cars with participants for the individual events We are also understanding the yellow and pink-colored jersey, which illustrates who leads the men’s and women’s category accordingly.
