Focus on defending champions and challengers

In the women’s event, defending champion Alba Frey (Spain) will be competing again. Also taking part is Maricarmen Rivera from Puerto Rico, who is out for revenge after her slip-up in last year’s final. With 14 world championship medals to her name, she is one of the absolute top stars of the SUP scene.

Juliette Du Haime (Argentina), who stood on the podium in Düsseldorf in 2025, is also one of the favorites.

In the men’s field, well-known names such as Manuel Hoyuela, Ivan de Frutos Ruiz and Unax Etxeberria will be fighting for every tenth of a second and other titles.

Athletes from all over the world travel to boot Düsseldorf

The importance of boot Düsseldorf as an international water sports event is also reflected in the origin of the participants. Athletes travel from countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Canada and New Zealand.

Brianna Orams will be making the longest journey to Düsseldorf, coming all the way from New Zealand. A total of 78 riders will take part in the competition, ensuring a top-class starting field.

There will also be many local heroes from Germany and the GSUPA will once again be presenting its awards. The following well-known athletes from Germany will be there: Anton Birkicht, Batisan Grimm, Leon Knorr, Benyam Bossak, Cedric Fahlbusch, Jojo Karst, Laila Joyce, Lasse Sauerteig, Marlon Daskiran, Neo Linus Knorr, Normen Weber, Ole Schwarz, Vince Duschneit.
