Benoit Carpentier and Luchy Cosoleto Claim Performance SUP World Titles at 2025 Gran Canaria Pro-Am

The 2025 Gran Canaria Pro-Am wrapped up in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria with decisive performances in both the men’s and women’s Performance SUP divisions, crowning Benoit Carpentier of France and Luchy Cosoleto of Argentina as World Champions on the APP World Tour. The event marked the conclusion of the 2025 competitive season and once again reinforced Gran Canaria’s position as a key venue for elite SUP surfing.
Following his earlier success in the Longboard SUP division, Benoit Carpentier carried his momentum into Performance SUP, delivering consistent and technically strong surfing throughout the competition at El Lloret. After advancing through the opening rounds, Carpentier raised his level in the semi-finals, where he posted the highest scores of the event. He continued that form into the final, selecting the best waves in increasingly difficult conditions to secure victory. The win represents his second Performance SUP World Title, in addition to consecutive Longboard SUP titles, highlighting his adaptability across disciplines.
Sebastian Gomez finished second in the men’s final after a strong campaign that saw him progress steadily through the rounds. His performance earned him the Vice World Champion title for 2025, continuing an upward trend in his results on the APP World Tour. France’s Mathieu Carpentier claimed third place with a solid showing across the event, while Germany’s Moritz Mauch rounded out the final in fourth place, managing challenging circumstances during the closing stages of the competition.
In the women’s Performance SUP division, Argentina’s Luchy Cosoleto claimed her second consecutive World Title with another composed performance in Gran Canaria. Facing a changing swell and demanding conditions, Cosoleto demonstrated control and progression in the final to take the win and confirm her back-to-back championship status on tour.

Peru’s Vania Torres finished a close second after pushing the final until the closing moments. Her return to the APP World Tour in 2025 after time away from competition has been one of the notable storylines of the season, and her performance in Gran Canaria further established her as a key contender moving forward. Japan’s Kaede Inoue and Sakura Inoue completed the podium positions in third and fourth, continuing to demonstrate consistency and competitive depth in women’s SUP surfing.
The 2025 Gran Canaria Pro-Am marked the sixth edition of the event and concluded a season characterized by variable weather, strong winds, and large swell conditions. Despite the challenges, the competition delivered high-quality performances across both divisions. With its dual-venue setup and urban coastal setting, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria once again provided a fitting backdrop for the final stop of the APP World Tour. Organizers have confirmed that preparations are already underway for the 2026 season, with further announcements expected in the coming months.
