The latest Code Foils Fiji Retreat with James Casey and Josh Ku has wrapped up on Namotu Island, and by all accounts it was one of the most successful editions yet. For an entire week, a group of dedicated foilers experienced world-class coaching, dream conditions and the unique island vibe that makes Namotu such a special place.
A Week Defined by Perfect Conditions and Rapid Progress
The retreat delivered everything participants hoped for: clean swell, glassy mornings, endless downwind options and warm tropical waters. With daily coaching from James Casey, supported by Code Foils and Foil Drive, the progression curve was steep from day one. Riders improved their pumping efficiency, linked more waves than ever before and gained confidence in challenging sections.
James’ coaching style — calm, analytical and incredibly clear — once again proved to be a major highlight. His video reviews, technique breakdowns and one-on-one feedback helped every rider push past personal limits.
Top Equipment, Professional Support

With Code Foils gear on hand, participants were able to fine-tune their setups and experiment with different wings and fuselages. Jet-ski and boat support ensured everyone made the most out of each session, whether practicing tow-ins, mastering downwind starts or chasing long rolling waves further offshore.
The Retreat Vibe: Community, Learning and Pure Fun
Beyond the training, the group atmosphere was exceptional. Riders from different backgrounds came together, encouraged each other and shared countless unforgettable sessions. Evening gatherings, sunset chats and the warm hospitality of the Namotu staff added to the magic of the week.

A Clear Success – With Many Already Planning to Return
By the time the retreat ended, the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Many participants described it as the most productive week of foiling they’ve ever had — a perfect blend of progression, adventure and island living. Several riders have already reserved their spots for the next edition.
The success of this retreat once again confirms why James Casey’s Code Foils Camps are considered some of the best foiling experiences in the world.
