Torres and Diniz Capture SUP Surfing World Titles at 2025 ISA WSUPPC
The SUP Surfing divisions delivered dramatic finishes at the 2025 ISA World SUP and Paddleboard Championship in Surf City El Salvador, where Vania Torres (PER) and Luiz Diniz (BRA) claimed the sport’s most prestigious crowns.
In the women’s final, Torres secured her first World Title after a nail-biter against defending champion Lucia Cosoleto (ARG). The heat remained tight from the opening exchange, with Cosoleto earning a narrow early lead. Ultimately, Torres’ patience paid off as she waited for the largest set of the final and capitalized on the scoring opportunity that pushed her ahead. Cosoleto settled for silver, while Aline Adisaka (BRA) and Gabriela Sztamfater (BRA) completed the podium.

Brazil’s Luiz Diniz continued to make history in the men’s SUP Surfing, earning his fourth consecutive world title. The win solidifies Diniz as the most dominant SUP surfer in ISA history, having claimed gold in every edition he has entered. Max Torres (PUR) earned the silver medal, followed by Kapono Fukuda (JPN) with bronze and Tamil Martino (PER) with copper.

Earlier in the day, Stella Smith (NZL) delivered a standout performance, winning her heat with a last-second ride that propelled her from third to first and into the semifinals.
The SUP Surfing events set a high bar at El Sunzal, blending powerful surf with high-stakes pressure as the world’s best athletes battled for SUP surfing supremacy. Let me know if you’d like an even shorter version or a more stylized editorial tone!
