DESCRIPTION:HANOHANO HUKI TIME TRIAL CHALLENGE\n\n\n\nAttention Paddlers:  \n\n\n\nHanohano Outrigger Canoe Club   would like to invite you to the 28th Annual West Coast Paddlesports Hanohano  Ocean Challenge Presented by : Ocean Flight and Koloa Surf Co.  to be held in Mission Bay\, San Diego\, Ca. on January 28th\, 2023. \n\n\n\nThe Hanohano   Ocean Challenge is one of the Longest Running Paddlesport Races in California (OC-1\, Surfski\, Traditional Paddleboard\, Standup Paddleboard and Kayak)  We’ve always had a great mix of top level professional athletes and beginners from ages 7-80.   \n\n\n\nPFD’s and leashes are highly encouraged.  \n\n\n\nImportant Notes on the event: \n\n\n\n***Pre-Registration is highly suggested.  It will help eliminate delays on race morning as well as cut down on paddler error while registering with our online format.   \n\n\n\n***PFD’s are required on all paddlecraft with the exception of Prone paddleboard.  Leashes are suggested for use on the long course for OC-1’s and Surfski’s \n\n\n\n***Food…Breakfast snack items and coffee will be available for free in the morning.  Lunch will be an additional fee with menu items beginning at $5.00.  Please bring cash.  The lunch format allows us account for the increased number of mouths to feed while keeping your race fee low…Bring a water bottle\, we will have water to fill them up.   \n\n\n\n***Raffle: Hanohano OCC still boasts the best Raffle west of the Mississippi…bring some dough and have a chance at a ton of great product from our sponsors and vendors.  Special Thanks to our Presenting Partner Stellar Kayak and Ocean Flight for our Grand Prize\, a brand new Stellar Surfski! \n\n\n\n***No Dogs\, Alcohol or Glass are allowed in Mission Bay Park…Rangers will issue hefty fines \n\n\n\n***No refunds \n\n\n\n***Paddlers are required to know the course and behave in a sportsmanlike manner…Please come to the assistance of fellow paddlers in distress.   \n\n\n\n***COVID: If you have symptoms\, please stay home.  If you’ve had COVID within 10 days please stay home.  If you are unvaccinated or at risk\, please wear a mask \n\n\n\nLast year’s results are available on PaddleGuru at: https://paddleguru.com/races/2022HanohanoHukiOceanChallenge/results \n\n\n\nHanohano Award Policy! \n\n\n\n***Numbers required per category based on PaddleGuru Registration \n\n\n\nNumber of racers                                Awards Presented \n\n\n\n1-4 participants                                    First Place Only \n\n\n\n5-8 participants                                   First and Second Only \n\n\n\n8-14 Participants                                 First\, Second\, Third \n\n\n\n15 or more                                             First\, Second\, Third and Fourth if numbers allow \n\n\n\nNotes: \n\n\n\nOC-2\, SS-2                                               No Age Categories \n\n\n\nV1 short course                                      No Age Categories \n\n\n\nKayak                                                       No Age Categories \n\n\n\nSUP -2 +                                                   No Age or Gender Categories
